About half of the plant species here, do not occur anywhere else in the world. When the winter rains fall, the farm and surrounding granite boulders, are wrapped in a floral blanket which creates the most beautiful floral spectacle in the world. With nearly 3,000 plant species, including goat bark vygies, daisies, Gazania’s, cat tails and so on, the area will amaze you! Guests can walk around the farm and enjoy the scenery. Climb the granite hills and seek out the mysterious Klipspringers and the baboons, who make the mountains their home, or walk in the dry riverbanks, looking for the speckled padloper, while the floral kingdom is admired.Jakkalswater is, of course, a destination of its own, but also offers guests an ideal overnight option, on-route to Namibia, the Richtersveld and the northern west coast of South Africa.
